Have a safe and fun Holiday! **** SOCK SUNDAYS We had a great time on Sunday June 8. Join us for the meetings on July 13 and Aug. 17 2pm-4pm Do you love to knit socks? Do sock yarns and patterns fascinate you? Do you want to explore different ideas about socks? Join us one Sunday a month for Sock Sundays. There will be a featured sock every two or three months for you to knit if you choose. But, you can just show up and work on the sock of your choice. This is not a learn to knit socks activity. (However, we do have sock knitting classes. Click the Classes icon above to learn more.) There is no charge. We ask that you buy your yarn from River Wools. The first sock will be Leaf Lace from Fiber Trends. **** CLAPOTI KNITALONG Fridays June 13 and July 11 11am This great wrap from www.knitty.com can be made from almost any yarn and in a variety of sizes. We will work on it together. The pattern is available for you to copy from knitty. There is no charge for the knitalong meetings. You do need to use yarns pur-chased at River Wools. If you don’t live in the area, you can participate by sharing pictures of your clapoti with us via email or online. MARK YOUR CALENDAR SUNDAY, AUGUST 3 KNITALONG PARTY If you have participated in any of our KnitAlongs, you are invited to this party. We urge you to wear and/or bring the items you knitted along. We will have great food, enjoy our friends who knit and have door prizes. Details to Follow! **** Block of the Month: Great American Afghan/Aran Afghan One Sunday a Month: May 18, June 29, July 27 and Aug. 24. 2pm-4pm. Join Martha, Lana and lots of friends to experiment with color and stitches for one of these great Afghans from XRX (Knitter's Magazine). Gather at River Wools for fun and knitting. Bring a snack to share if you want, we may put a movie in the dvd player. We'll prepare two blocks a month and help you out if you need some assistance. Knit one block a month and you'll have an afghan in a year. ***** River Wools is a HOT SOXX SPOT XRX, Inc.(Knitter's Magazine), several yarn companies (including Skacel, Southwest Trading Co., Mountain Colors and others.) are teaming up with Local Yarn Shops for a great contest for sock knitters with over $10,000.00 in prize money.
